History

The Dubliner Salzburg was opened in October 2004 by Ken Payne after having worked in the European Irish Pub scene for many years. Originally from north Dublin, he brings a mixture of Irish way-of-life and Austrian style to the pub. The Dubliner is known in many circles as the “most authentic” Irish bar in Salzburg.

Soon after its opening it quickly became known as a place where you could either go for a quiet drink, watch a sporting event or for a party night, depending on your mood or the day.

Over the years, The Dubliner has been host to a number of events and parties, including the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, New Year’s Eve, the annual Kaigassenfest, the European Football Championships and the huge celebration of the first Red Bull Salzburg Ice Hockey championship.

We look forward to your visit no matter what the occasion. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to sit down for a Guinness and hear a story from the incomparable Ken.
